Nel 2021 si compivano 500 anni dalla morte di Josquin e l’impulso di rendere omaggio, almeno un modesto omaggio, a questo Grande mi si è presentato in modo del tutto naturale. In un primissimo momento ho pensato di realizzare alcune sue opere cercando di mettere in relazione le caratteristiche dinamiche di una fisarmonica con il costrutto vocale che impregna inevitabilmente il lavoro di Josquin e ottenere quindi, per via strumentale, una rappresentazione sonora e un modello interpretativo che avesse la vocalità come centro di interesse primario.

In 2021 it was 500 years since Josquin’s death and the impulse to pay homage, at least a modest homage, to this Great one came quite naturally to me. At first I thought of making some of his pie ed trying to relate the dynamic characteristics of an accordion with the vocal construct that inevitably permeates Josquin’s work and thus obtain, instrumentally, a sound representation and an interpretative model that had vocality as a center of primary interest.

Accordion for Beethoven

Erano trascorsi appena due anni dalla scomparsa di Ludwig van Beethoven, quando, proprio a Vienna Cyrill, Demian registrava nel 1829 il brevetto del suo Akkordeon, strumento che solo in nuce serbava quella complessità tecnico - fonica maturata poi nel tempo, fino a configurare la moderna fisarmonica da concerto. Quasi due secoli dopo la fisarmonica offre a Beethoven, nel duecentocinquantesimo anniversario della nascita, l'originalità e la plasticità sonora di strumento polifonico dal suono tenuto e con variabilità dinamica immediata, uno strumento sintesi delle modalità espressive di fiati, archi e tastiere.

Just two years had passed since the death of Ludwig van Beethoven, when in Vienna Cyrill Demian registered in 1829 the patent of his Akkordeon, an instrument that only in nuce held a so great technical and sound complexity then matured over time, up to configure the modern concert accordion. Almost two centuries later, the accordion offers Beethoven, on the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of his birth, the originality and the sound plasticity of a polyphonic instrument, with its continous sound and its immediate dynamic variability, an instrument synthesis of the expressive modes of keyboards, wind and string instruments.

Preludio WoO 55 (Ludwig van Beethoven) trascrizione per fisarmonica

Fondato su una tecnica compositiva attribuita allo studio dello stile bachiano, seppur con una forte impronta beethoveniana, questo Preludio risulta nella prima edizione (Vienna 1805) destinato al pianoforte ma, per la peculiare trama polifonica è spesso realizzato all’organo.

Founded on a compositional technique attributed to the study of the bachian style, although with a strong Beethoven imprint, this Prelude is in the first edition (Vienna 1805) intended for the piano but, for the peculiar polyphonic texture is often made to the organ.
