L’entusiasmo proveniva dalla felicità di scrivere per un organico mai provato prima che moltiplica per cinque l’uso di uno strumento prediletto.

The proposal to write a piece for five accordions on a Beethovenian theme excited and worried me at the same time.
The enthusiasm came from the happiness of writing for an ensemble that had never been tried before, multiplying the use of a favorite instrument by five.

Uno che non riesco a sentire”. Cinque frammenti beethoveniani, volutamente scelti dalla tarda produzione del Maestro (due dal quartetto n. 16, due dalle Sei Bagatelle e uno dalla “Grosse Fugue”), costituiscono la struttura dell'intero lavoro.

The title comes from a Beethoven quote, “Music is like a dream. One I can't hear”. Five Beethoven fragments, deliberately chosen from the late production of the composer (two from the quartet n. 16, two from the Six Bagatelle and one from the “Grosse Fugue”), constitute the structure of the entire work.
